War Memorial

The Lynch Gate at Fernhurst Cemetery.

The cemetery is located in Church Road GU27 3HZ.  It was first consecrated in 1879, and is owned, maintained and managed by Fernhurst Parish Council.  There are  War Graves, registered with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, within the precinct of the cemetery.

 The War Memorial is dedicated to those from Fernhurst who lost their lives during the First and Second World Wars.  The WW1 memorial abuts the public road and is indented into the grounds of St Margaret of Antioch's church, Fernhurst.

Children's Playground

The Council owns and maintains fifty-eight eco-friendly street lights distributed throughout the parish.  Most of the stock has been replaced with energy efficient LED lights, and the process of upgrading this stock continues.

The children's playground, located at the eastern end of the recreation ground, is a playground suitable for children up to the age of 12, complete with two picnic tables for families to enjoy.

Fernhurst Village Green is a picturesque and quintessentially English village green with a very pleasant vista of the famous Blackdown Hill and the traditional Red Lion public house located on the corner. It is owned and maintained by the council.

The Crossfield public toilets are located in the Crossfield car park just off Vann Road at GU27 3JL. It was refurbished in 2021/2022 and disabled and baby changing facilities  added.

Fernhurst Parish Council is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of twenty-four rustic benches which are located all around the parish.

Fernhurst Parish Council is responsible for strategically placed Grit Bins which are used to salt the Highways and Pavements within the parish during periods of icy and snowy weather.

Fernhurst Parish Council is responsible for the installation and maintenance of six bus shelters. All are located on the A286; three at Kingsley Green, two adjacent to Fernhurst Primary School, and one opposite the Village Hall. The Village Hall has a bus shelter incorporated in its front facade.
